Japan Nosocomial Infections Surveillance (JANIS)

The incidence of urinary tract infection and catheter related bloodstream infection remained at the same level over the past five years: 0.5-0.6 per 1,000 days of ICU stay and at 0.7-0.8 per 1,000 days of ICU stay respectively. JANIS monitors cases of infections that occurred between 48 hours after admission to ICU and discharge from ICU.
